Job summary

LifeWorks Austin is seeking an Employment Specialist to join the Workforce Development team. The role provides community-based supported employment and education services to youth and young adults using the IPS model to promote recovery and meaningful employment aligned with individual goals.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with benefits including PTO, holidays, health plan with HSA, and retirement match. Expect regular outreach, client advocacy, and collaboration with local employers.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; two years of related experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems; strong data entry and documentation skills.
• Demonstrates client-focused, trauma-informed approach and ability to work with diverse youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered, trauma-informed in-person supported employment services to diverse individuals.
• Coordinate with team to ensure fidelity to the IPS model and thorough documentation.
• Attend job fairs and outreach events to promote the program and agency.
• Transport clients to interviews and events, assess crises with de-escalation strategies, and maintain safety planning.
• Develop individualized employment or education plans with clients, incorporating input from families and partners.
• Maintain timely and accurate case records, data entry, and required documentation.
• Provide education to employers and ongoing follow-along support to clients seeking employment.
• Meet regularly with LifeWorks staff to coordinate wrap-around services and build job readiness skills.
