Job summary

LifeWorks Austin is seeking a Program Manager to lead our Workforce Development team and supervise a dedicated IPS-based staff serving youth and young adults facing homelessness and related challenges. You will oversee training, data oversight, quality improvement, client outcomes, and community partnerships while mentoring staff and ensuring compliance with funding and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field with 3 years’ experience or equivalent
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
• Preferred minimum 1 year supervisory experience
• Experience with databases; proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Coordinates development, delivery, and management of program services.
• Promotes a healing- and person-centered culture.
• Hire, orient, train, supervise, evaluate, and dismiss direct reports per policy.
• Review client outcomes with staff during supervision.
• Ensure staff provide appropriate support and utilize program resources efficiently.
• Coach, plan, monitor, and appraise staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with funding, licensure, and accrediting bodies.
• Provide guidance and case consultation daily.
• Build team strength in de-escalation and mediation.
• Complete file reviews and ensure data entry in databases.
• Update training materials and track staff training dates.
• Maintain knowledge of best practices (Housing First, harm reduction, youth development).
• Liaise with partner organizations and external stakeholders.
• Provide coverage and direct client services during staffing transitions.
• Assist with program outcomes reporting and funder audits.
• Represent the program at leadership meetings and communicate decisions.
• Provide community training and outreach.
• Prepare for supervision meetings and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
