Job summary

CASES seeks an Employment Specialist to support ACES participants ages 16-24 with job readiness, vocational training and employment planning. This full-time in-person role covers NYC communities, including East Harlem and the South Bronx, with a salary of $65,000 annually.

The role involves delivering workshops, coaching, job search support, and coordination of events, while maintaining documentation and partner relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of work with youth or young adults
• Experience working with justice-involved and/or opportunity youth
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse external and internal partners
• Trained in or committed to trauma-informed approaches
• Commitment to participant-centered service delivery and continuous improvement
• Valid tri-state driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized job coaching, employment planning and career counseling
• Design and deliver engaging workshops focused on job readiness skills (resume building, interview techniques, workplace etiquette, job search)
• Support participants in conducting effective job searches using online portals and networking
• Provide one-on-one coaching to develop personalized job search plans
• Travel within the community to meet participants at various settings
• Guide participants through obtaining professional credentials and certifications
• Escort participants to job fairs and employment networking opportunities
• Coordinate logistics for employment-related events, job fairs, outreach activities, and participant engagement
• Maintain up-to-date documentation in databases on attendance and progress
• Maintain ongoing communication with referral partners to ensure successful placements
• Participate in professional development to improve service delivery
• Stay updated with workforce development trends and best practices
• Other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Director
