Job summary

Children's Aid seeks an Employment Specialist for the Next Generation Center in New York City. You will deliver employment readiness training, coach disconnected youth ages 18-24, source internships and training opportunities, and promote our mission and values.

The role collaborates with Life Coach and program staff, offers job search support, resume help, and post-placement coaching, and requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ youth work experience. Travel throughout NYC is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of experience working in job development or with difficult-to-engage adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and obtaining appropriate employment, internship, and training opportunities for transition youth.
• Developing relationships with employer partners and coordinating site visits, events, and job shadowing.
• Assisting youth with resumes, references, and job applications.
• Providing ongoing post-placement support and troubleshooting.
• Conducting employment readiness groups and individual coaching.
• Collaborating with Life Coach and program staff on employability skills.
• Travel throughout NYC as needed.
