Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks an Afterschool Site Lead to manage a licensed school-age program. You will ensure safety, engagement, and high-quality activities aligned with YMCA curriculum while maintaining licensing standards.

You will coordinate operations, supervise staff, and foster strong relationships with families and school partners, promoting growth and program excellence in a dynamic before/after school setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours of relevant training.
• At least 1 year of experience with youth in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations and successful background checks.
• TB test and health screenings per state/local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a licensed afterschool program site to keep children safe, supported and engaged.
• Coordinate daily program operations and implement YMCA curriculum.
• Ensure licensing compliance and maintain required records and postings.
• Build strong relationships with families, school partners, and YMCA staff.
• Plan activities, monitor safety, and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Engage in parent communications and support enrollment and retention.
