Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago is seeking a Part Time Program Instructor to prepare and implement youth programs, supervise members, and evaluate outcomes. The role supports Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles and Good Citizenship while contributing to a positive club environment.

The candidate will work after school or during summer hours, with duties including activity planning, safety monitoring, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• 1-2 years’ Youth Development experience.
• Excellent communication/inter-personal skills.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral problems.
• Ability to interact with general public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality learning programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes.
• Promote daily learning and participation in programs.
• Orient new members to Club programs, events, and safety rules.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Implement, monitor and evaluate programs and activities for members.
• Develop weekly and monthly program plans.
• Monitor safety and quality of programs and services.
• Recognize members for participation and achievement.
• Maintain attendance and participation records.
• Supervise volunteers and program assistants.
• Attend weekly Club Leader meetings.
• Manage supplies and ensure budget compliance.
• Keep facilities neat and bulletin boards up to date.
