Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson seeks a dedicated program staff member to deliver after-school and youth development activities, including homework help, tutoring, and enrichment in Education and Arts. You will promote participation, register new members, provide guidance, and model positive behavior for youth.

Responsibilities include implementing programs, maintaining attendance records, preparing schedules, ordering supplies, addressing parent questions, coordinating with the Director, and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Knowledge of youth development concepts.
• Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
• Ability to guide, assist and interpret procedures.
• Ability to use diverse reference materials and information.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to interact professionally with the public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality youth programs.
• Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe setting.
• CPR and First Aid certifications and TB clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Promote and stimulate program participation.
• Register new members and participate in orientation.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Effectively implement programs and activities for drop-in members.
• Provide daily homework and tutoring assistance.
• Maintain attendance records and required documentation.
• Collect and maintain members' report cards.
• Take inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Address concerns from parents and teachers.
• Advise Director on program needs and staffing.
• Prepare schedules and bulletin boards.
• Promote and recruit members via schools and parents.
• Maintain logs of observations and progress.
• Ensure programs operate safely and meet member needs.
