YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader for before/after school and day camp programs in Katy area. You will create a safe, engaging environment, lead age-appropriate activities, and support youth growth while upholding YMCA values and community partnerships.

The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and positive behavior guidance; eligibility includes HS diploma, 18+, and required trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth in before/after school and day camp programs.
• Lead activities, games, and projects aligned with YMCA curriculum to support learning and growth.
• Monitor safety, perform headcounts, and follow sign-in/out procedures according to YMCA policies.
• Model YMCA values—honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith—in all interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized program space and ensure compliance with licensing standards.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and fellow staff.
• Engage diverse youth and supervise to ensure protective practices are followed.
