Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to join our Katy-area before/after school and day camp programs. This part-time role emphasizes creating a safe, engaging environment where youth feel valued and inspired to learn.

You will supervise activities, guide behavior with positive techniques, and build strong relationships with families and staff, while upholding YMCA values and licensing standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and able to obtain required trainings.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of youth work in licensed settings preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging before/after school and day camp environment.
• Supervise activities and conduct headcounts per YMCA policies.
• Lead age-appropriate activities aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Model honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Maintain a clean, safe program space and meet licensing standards.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Ensure proper sign-in/out procedures and vigilant supervision.
