Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader for before/after-school and day camp programs in Katy, TX. The role emphasizes safety, engagement, and development of youth with a supportive team.

You will lead activities, follow YMCA policies, and build strong relationships with children and families while upholding core YMCA values. A HS diploma and background check are required, with CPR/First Aid training encouraged.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment in before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Lead activities, games, and projects aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Monitor safety, conduct headcounts, and supervise all program areas.
• Model YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
