Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to support before/after‑school and day camp programs. You’ll help create a safe, fun, and enriching environment where children feel valued and families are engaged.

You must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and be able to plan age‑appropriate activities. CPR/First Aid/AED training (or willingness to obtain) and background checks are required. A temporary $3/hour stipend is available in eligible locations.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Six months of youth experience in a licensed setting preferred
• CPR, First Aid, AED and child protection training (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities
• Experience with diverse populations and background checks/fingerprinting

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging environment for before/after-school and day camp.
• Lead activities and supervise youth to ensure safety and inclusion.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean program space.
