Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader for our Before/After School Programs and Day Camps in The Woodlands, TX. This is a part-time role offering meaningful youth engagement and community impact.

You’ll create a safe, inclusive environment, lead engaging activities, and collaborate with families, staff, and school partners while upholding YMCA values and program standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth in before/after school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and respond to situations per YMCA policies.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on learning; adapt activities to diverse needs.
• Model YMCA values and act as a positive role model for children.
• Support daily operations; keep spaces clean, organized, and compliant with standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA teammates.
• Follow child-protection policies and maintain vigilant supervision of all program areas.
