Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a Youth Development Leader for before/after-school and day camp programs. Base pay is $13 per hour, with a temporary $3 per hour stipend for eligible locations serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. Roles are part-time and involve creating a safe, engaging environment for youth.

You’ll lead activities, ensure safety, and model YMCA values while coordinating with families and staff. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Six months of youth-related experience in licensed settings or similar
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting
• TB test and required immunizations as per guidelines

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for before/after school and day camp programs
• Monitor activities, run headcounts, and follow YMCA policies
• Lead age-appropriate activities and adapt to diverse needs
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, safe program space
• Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA team
• Protect youth through proper sign-in/out procedures and supervision
