Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring a Youth Development Leader for our before/after-school and day camp programs in Katy, TX. Earn a base pay of $13.00 per hour, with a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend for eligible programs serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD.

This role emphasizes safety, engagement, and meaningful activities for youth. Join a mission-driven team dedicated to helping children grow, learn, and thrive.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment in before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Lead activities, monitor youth, and ensure safety and supervision per YMCA policies.
• Engage youth and families, support positive behavior, and foster inclusion.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Assist with daily operations and maintain a clean, organized program space.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA team.
