Job summary

St. Charles Youth & Family Services seeks a Youth Development Specialist for 1st shift in Milwaukee, WI.

This role supports youth in a therapeutic 24‑hour care environment, planning daily activities and providing supportive services per service plans. Youth Education Support duties involve organizing educational enrichment, groups, and community activities, with collaboration across school and residential program teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with At Risk Youth.
• Ability to obtain/maintain childcare certification.
• Must rotate shifts if needed and work on other living units as required.
• Demonstrates cultural competence and respectful communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support to youth.
• Monitor attendance and address off-task behaviors.
• Coordinate with school staff to maintain safe learning environments.
• Facilitate and document client activities and routines.
• Provide therapeutic counseling to groups and individuals.
• Maintain client confidentiality and complete documentation.
• Transport clients as needed and operate a panel van.
• Attend team meetings and contribute input per standards.
