Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida seek a Youth Development Specialist to support Club Leadership in delivering an Outcome-Driven Club Experience across pillars such as Academic Success, Career Development, character and leadership, health and life skills, arts, sports, fitness, recreation and social-emotional Well-Being.

You will work directly with youth, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development through interactive activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in education, youth development or related field preferred.
• Some experience working or volunteering with youth in educational or development setting preferred.
• Ability to plan, develop and implement high-quality, age-appropriate programs emphasizing academics, character and healthy lifestyles.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication; cultural competence in program delivery.
• Trauma-informed, strengths-based problem-solving and ability to adapt ideas to benefit the Club and members.
• Flexibility to learn and support innovative ideas; willingness to participate in training opportunities.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred; willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activities in assigned program area.
• Maintain facilities, equipment, supplies and report issues to supervisor.
• Review inventory and request supplies promptly.
• Facilitate core programs as directed by Supervisor.
• Provide active presence to support safe, positive youth development.
• Deliver coaching conversations and redirection when needed.
• Track attendance, coursework and behavior data as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and training events.
• Ensure daily program areas are set up and cleaned; share agenda with members.
• Maintain proper record-keeping and reporting of activities and participation.
