Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County in Brewster, WA is seeking a Youth Development Professional to support and implement programs for youth ages 5–18, focusing on Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship.

Under the Unit Director, you will lead activities, supervise youth in accordance with DCYF and BGCSC standards, manage supplies, and help create a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Sixteen (16) years of age or older; eighteen (18) preferred for DCYF supervision requirements.
• Highschool Diploma, GED, or actively enrolled preferred.
• Ability to remain positive and organized in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to incorporate organizational values fun, respect, integrity, community, and acceptance into all practices.
• Prior experience working with youth or background in youth development preferred.
• Flexibility to work different hours based on seasonal and operational needs.
• Ability to pass a background check in accordance with BGCSC standards and meet all state licensing requirements upon hire.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Responsibilities

• Assists Program Director in planning and implementing activities for the members that provides a sense of belonging
• Assists with managing program supplies and equipment
• Engages in physical activities such as sports, S.T.E.M, and arts and crafts
• Supervises the youth independently in regulation of WA DCYF and BGCSC standards
• Participates in active and engaged supervision for all members
• Prepares snacks for members while practicing food safety
• Supports members' behavior using social emotional learning and trauma-informed practices
• Works with a variety of youth from various backgrounds
• Ensures youth are safe and engaged in activities, including safety requirements for BGCSC
• Creates positive and supportive relationships with youth
• Actively practices BGCSC Cultural DNA guidelines
• Maintains organization and cleanliness of club and equipment
• Completes and maintains training and professional development as required
• Other duties as assigned by Unit Director
