Job summary

YMCA of Delaware is seeking a dance instructor to develop and implement diverse dance programs for youth and teens. You will create curricula across ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and contemporary, and plan lessons for varied ages and abilities.

You will stay current with trends and best practices in dance education while prioritizing safety, inclusivity, and engaging experiences for participants and their families.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• 2–3 years of experience as a dance instructor or performer.
• Experience teaching multiple dance styles (ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary).
• Strong understanding of dance techniques, choreography, and performance practices.
• Familiarity with dance safety protocols and injury prevention.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement dance programs for a wide range of ages and skill levels.
• Create dance curricula and lesson plans across multiple styles.
• Continuously update programs with new trends, techniques and best practices in dance education.
