Job summary

Crossroads YMCA is seeking a Part-Time Dance Coach in Crown Point, IN to lead energetic dance classes and develop age-appropriate choreography. You will guide participants, create lesson plans, assess progress, and foster a safe, inclusive environment where youth feel confident and valued.

Responsibilities include building relationships with families, planning recitals, and communicating progress. Must be able to work evenings/weekends and complete YMCA training.

Qualifications

• Passion for dance and working with others.
• Ability to lead engaging and age-appropriate dance instruction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with participants and families.
• Willingness to complete required YMCA training, certifications, and staff meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, energetic, safe, and educational dance classes.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Develop lesson plans that help participants progress according to their age and ability.
• Modify activities and instruction to meet the needs of individual participants.
• Help plan and develop choreography for recitals.
• Build positive relationships with participants, parents, and families.
• Encourage participants and celebrate their accomplishments and progress.
