Job summary

Crossroads YMCA in Crown Point, IN is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Coach to lead safe, engaging gymnastics classes for participants of all ages. You will create fun, inclusive learning environments while upholding YMCA standards and assisting with member engagement.

No experience? No problem—training is provided. The role requires weekday morning availability, and compensation starts at $10.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 required.
• 12 months experience in gymnastics training; prior teaching experience preferred.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Leader Orientation.
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational gymnastics classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Provides appropriate supervision at all times.
• Helps create class lesson plans tailored to ages and abilities, adjusting as needed.
• Builds relationships with participants and parents, promoting YMCA connections.
• Models welcoming, connecting, motivating and affirming behaviors.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records and informs supervisor of discrepancies.
