Job summary

Crossroads YMCA is seeking a part-time Cheer Coach to lead fun and energetic cheer classes at Dean & Barbara White Southlake YMCA in Crown Point, IN. You will supervise in a safe environment, plan age-appropriate lessons, and teach cheer skills and routines to participants of various ages.

Ideal candidates are passionate about cheer, capable of adapting instruction for different skill levels, and comfortable communicating with families and staff. Evening/weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Passion for cheer and working with others.
• Ability to lead engaging and age-appropriate cheer instruction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, energetic, safe, and educational cheer classes.
• Provide supervision and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Create age- and skill-appropriate lesson plans that help participants progress.
• Modify activities to meet individual needs.
• Teach cheer skills, routines, and choreography.
• Assist with planning routines for competitions and performances.
• Build relationships with participants, parents, and families.
• Communicate participant progress with parents when appropriate.
• Maintain attendance records and support program growth.
