Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc is seeking a Mental Health Specialist I for the Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit at the Main Campus in Columbus, Ohio. This is an evenings, part-time role (0.6 FTE), 24 hours per week, with every other weekend rotation.

The position starts at $20.16 per hour with additional evening and weekend differentials. You will provide trauma-informed care under supervision, support treatment planning, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; currently enrolled in psychology/social work undergrad or equivalent experience.
• BLS, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and First Aid certifications required prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

• Participates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver specialized patient care.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families and supports education.
• Provides trauma-informed care, uses de-escalation, and assists with safety and crisis management.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
