Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc. is seeking a Mental Health Specialist I for the Adolescent Unit in Columbus, OH. The role is 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) with evening shifts from 3:00pm to 11:30pm, every other Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities include trauma-informed patient care, therapeutic relationships, and collaborative treatment planning under supervision. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, current enrollment in part of a psychology or related undergrad

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current enrollment in and completion of half a Psychology, Social Work, or related undergraduate program, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates with the interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Provides trauma-informed care and uses de-escalation as needed.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
• Acts as a resource to unit staff on diagnoses, behavior plans, and crisis management.
