Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a Mental Health Specialist I for the Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit (Nights). This part-time, 0.4 FTE role runs 11:00 PM–7:30 AM with every-other-weekend work. The position starts at $20.16/hour, plus night and weekend Premiums.

You will provide trauma-informed care under supervision, help establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current enrollment in psychology or social work undergrad or related experience required.
• BLS, TCI, and First Aid certifications required prior to finishing unit-based orientation.

Responsibilities

• Participates with the interdisciplinary team in specialized patient care.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and families on the unit.
• Provides trauma-informed care and uses de-escalation to maintain safety.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
