The officer will follow post orders, maintain a safe environment, and contribute to protective services, reporting, and positive youth development through relationship-based approaches.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license required.
• Hawai'i Guard Card preferred.
• Prior experience in security, customer service, or public safety is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of access control, surveillance, and alarm systems preferred.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and emergency response is a plus.
• Must be able to operate two-way radios and follow protocols.
• Computer/mobile device literacy for reporting is needed.
• Experience working with youth is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine interior and exterior patrols to identify hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas per post orders.
• Assist with securing property and preparing facilities for operations and events.
• Respond to alarms and incidents following SOPs; notify appropriate personnel.
• Use trauma-informed de-escalation to support youth, staff, and visitors.
• Enforce access control, visitor protocols, and policies; report issues with security systems.
• Complete daily activity logs and incident reports promptly.
• Provide courteous, culturally grounded customer service to families and visitors.
