Job summary

City of Gaithersburg is seeking an organized recreation professional to manage Olde Towne Youth Center as a full-time Facility Coordinator. The role oversees daily operations, safety, and programs for middle school youth, including after-school activities, field trips, and a recording studio.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing payroll, coordinating budgets, and developing outreach and marketing efforts to grow memberships and participation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to engage middle school youth
• Experience in facility/program management and supervision
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and recreation/financial software
• Bachelor's degree as listed or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Youth Center facility, including safety, scheduling, and budgeting
• Plan and supervise programs, trips, camps, clubs, and clinics
• Coordinate with staff and partners to deliver high-quality youth services
• Recruit, train, and evaluate staff; manage payroll and schedules
• Promote memberships and registrations; implement marketing strategies
• Ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment for diverse youth communities
