Job Description:

The Youth and Family Support Specialist Coordinator will lead and facilitate group activities, promote personal growth, and foster community relationships. The role requires a strong commitment to youth and family development, excellent communication skills, and a passion for positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Group Facilitation: Plan and execute age-appropriate activities that encourage leadership, teamwork, and personal development.
2. Safe Environment: Create an inclusive space where youth feel valued and supported.
3. Discussions: Lead conversations on mental health, substance abuse prevention, and conflict resolution.
4. Family Literacy: Support families in developing early literacy skills and creating supportive home learning environments.
5. Youth Development: Promote positive youth growth through mentoring, tutoring, and life skills training.
6. Juvenile Justice: Work with youth involved in the juvenile justice system, providing re-entry and prevention services.
7. Case Management: Assess needs, develop support plans, and connect families to resources.
8. Counseling and Mentoring: Provide emotional support, guidance, and skill development.
9. Crisis Intervention: Respond to emergencies and provide necessary support.
10. Outreach and Engagement: Build community relationships and promote programs.
11. Collaboration: Coordinate with agencies and professionals for comprehensive support.
12. Advocacy: Represent youth and families' needs to policymakers and stakeholders.

Administrative Tasks:

• Maintain records of attendance, activities, and progress.
• Prepare reports and documentation.
• Assist in program planning and evaluation.

Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in social work, psychology, or related field (preferred).
• Passion for youth work and belief in their potential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to create engaging group activities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience in youth development and facilitation (preferred).
• Must pass Department of Child Services background checks.
