Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Yoga Instructor to lead safe and engaging group classes (land or water) while promoting member growth and retention. You will design routines, engage participants, and ensure timely class starts and equipment upkeep.

The role requires 3+ years of teaching, a current Yoga Alliance certification, excellent communication, and the ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. Join a mission-driven team dedicated to community well-being.

Qualifications

• 3 years (300 hours) or more of teaching experience.
• Proof of current Yoga Alliance Certification (or equivalent).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and self-starter.
• Willing to work flexible hours based on client’s availability.
• Basic computer skills i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare class routines that meet safety guidelines.
• Engage with members pre/post class to build relationships.
• Record attendance with a 50% target and growth.
• Teach a minimum of 1 class per week and arrange substitutes when needed.
• Start and end class on time.
• Maintain equipment and keep the area clean.
• Participate in community outreach campaigns.
• Be aware of branch emergency procedures and attend staff meetings.
• Support the mission, vision and direction of the YMCA of Catawba Valley.
