Job summary

The YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Group Exercise Class Instructor to design and lead engaging fitness sessions for members and prospective members, upholding YMCA standards and safety guidelines.

You will create class routines, monitor participants, maintain equipment, report issues, and collaborate with the Membership/Wellness Director to provide a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all fitness levels.

Qualifications

• : Design and implement engaging group exercise classes per YMCA standards and safety guidelines.
• : Maintain equipment and facilities in clean, safe condition.
• : Attend staff meetings and complete required trainings; keep certifications current.
• : Record attendance and substitute coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare class routines meeting safety guidelines.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Record class attendance and handle substitutes.
• Start and end classes on time and ensure safe transitions.
• Maintain equipment and keep exercise area neat.
