Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking dedicated Group Leaders for our School Age Child Care program at YMCA Ayrlawn. This part-time role offers mornings and evenings during the school year with a compensation of $16.50 per hour and a schedule that fits before and after school care.

You will supervise and engage children, create a safe environment, plan daily activities, and communicate with families and staff to support social-emotional and academic growth in a collaborative afterschool

Qualifications

• Experience with school-age children in a school or childcare setting.
• High school diploma or GED required; relevant coursework or degree preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Strong interpersonal and behavior management skills.
• Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities is valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage school-age children in recreational, academic, and enrichment activities
• Create a safe and stimulating environment for all participants
• Plan and implement daily lessons and activities that support social-emotional and academic growth
• Provide guidance and positive behavior support

Compensation: $16.50 per hour
Schedule: Part-Time | Mornings/Evening Hours | School Year

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• Before Care 6:30am-8:00am and or
• After Care 2:30pm-6:30pm
