Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Semiconductor wafer fab device engineer to own yield responsibility across product and technology. You will analyze data, perform experiments, and collaborate with process and design teams to improve yields and reliability.

The role involves designing experiments, evaluating results with parametric/test equipment, and supporting new product transfers and process flows in the fab. A strong background in semiconductor physics and statistics is required.

Qualifications

• Requires BSEE with 5+ years or MSEE with 2+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and electronics.
• Understanding of digital/analog circuits and how they are characterized.
• Familiarity with IC wafer fab manufacturing processes.
• Experience with test equipment (analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.).
• Strong statistical and data analysis skills, SPC concepts.
• Proven ability to present information to management and teams.
• Ability to solve problems and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with wafer fab process, product, design, and test engineering to drive yield improvements.
• Analyze production and engineering data to identify yield issues.
• Design and analyze IC manufacturing process experiments to improve yields and performance.
• Evaluate parametric and product impact of process experiments.
• Use evaluation equipment to collect data, perform failure analysis, and detect fabrication problems.
• Own yield-related responsibilities including maintenance of yield limits and change control.
• Support introduction of new products and processes into fab and test areas.
• Lead technical projects and communicate needs across Microchip groups.
