Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a dockworker to safely load and unload freight in the yard and docks. You will operate a forklift and pallet jack, perform pre/post-shift inspections, and ensure freight is properly blocked and braced to prevent movement in transit.

Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down trailers, lowering tilt bars, and raising landing gear. You will work outdoors, follow safety rules, and communicate with dock supervision and drivers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• CDL and acceptable MVR required if driving on public roads (FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse if CDL holder).
• Experience in transportation is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of yard and dock equipment.
• Cube, load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Load freight to prevent damage by blocking, bracing, load bars, straps, dunnage and air bags.
• Set up, break down and hook trailers safely; ensure tilt bar lowered prior to loading.
