Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a dock associate to load/unload freight with a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand, strap and pad freight, and accurately record its condition on arrival in the service center.

Responsibilities include pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, maintaining safety standards, working all shifts (overtime/weekends), lifting about 70 lbs, standing and walking, and collaborating with teammates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior operation of a forklift or forklift certification preferred.
• Must be able to push/pull loaded pallet jack or hand truck with 70+ lbs.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting and twisting.
• Must work all shifts, including overtime and weekends; dependable.
• Must lift approximately 70 lbs. or more if required.
• Must comply with company policies and code of conduct.
• Must interact well with others.
• Must work independently or in a team.
• Able to work under tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment.
