What you’ll do as a Yard Laborer

• Participate in all phases of underground construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment
• Assist the Inventory Specialist with staging materials for specific jobs
• Help maintain the location’s inventory, reconcile physical inventory, and assist with offloading/loading trucks
• Track, receive, and verify new material shipments; coordinate handling and storage upon arrival
• Maintain organization of inventory and keep the shop and yard area clean and orderly
• Assist with inventory counts
• Follow all safety regulations and maintain safe working conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions in various formats
• Problem-solving skills involving multiple variables
• Knowledge of internet software, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing
• Current DOT health card certification
• Forklift certification
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class A license preferred
• Willingness to travel as required

Physical abilities & exposures

• Wear required PPE
• Sit, stand, or walk frequently
• Work on concrete surfaces regularly
• Kneel, squat, bend, and twist frequently
• Use hearing and sight constantly
• Occasionally work in adverse weather conditions
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly; up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Work in a loud environment
