What you’ll do as a Yard Laborer

• Participate in all phases of underground construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various materials and equipment
• Assist the Inventory Specialist with staging materials for specific jobs
• Help maintain the location’s inventory, reconcile physical inventory, and offload/load trucks
• Track, receive, verify new material shipments, and coordinate handling and storage upon arrival
• Maintain organized inventory and keep the shop and yard area clean and orderly
• Assist with inventory counts
• Follow safety regulations and maintain safe working conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions, memos, and correspondence
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions in various formats
• Problem-solving skills involving multiple variables
• Knowledge of internet, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software
• Current DOT health card certification
• Forklift certification
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Class A driver’s license preferred
• Travel may be required

Physical abilities & exposures

• Wear required personal protective equipment
• Sit, stand, or walk frequently
• Work on concrete surfaces, kneel, squat, bend, and twist
• Use hearing and sight regularly
• Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions occasionally
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Work in loud environments
