Job summary

Target is hiring a Yard Driver for our Distribution Center. You will drive and move trailers in the yard, hook/unhook them, and coordinate with dispatch to keep operations smooth.

The role requires a valid driver's license, the ability to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally, and a commitment to safety. CDL is preferred but not required; benefits are available to eligible team members and dependents.

Qualifications

• Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and 60 lbs infrequently.
• Able to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to problem solve and escalate when needed.
• Knowledge of tractors, trailers and their systems.
• Complies with safety procedures and performs routine vehicle inspections.
• Able to read trailer numbers and safety procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to operate computer systems with training.
• CDL is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate tractors/trailers in the yard safely and efficiently.
• Back up trailers into dock and yard locations; hook and unhook trailers.
• Maintain communication with Dispatch, Yard Coordinators and Operations Managers.
• Complete tasks accurately and on time, following safety procedures.
