Job summary

Target is seeking a Yard Driver to join our Distribution Center operations. You will drive and move trailers in the yard, back trailers into dock doors, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.

Safety inspections and accurate task completion are essential. The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and 60 lbs occasionally, and the ability to operate tractors and trailers and related systems.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver's license.
• Positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs infrequently.
• Able to work independently, quickly and safely.
• Ability to problem solve and elevate when needed.
• Knowledge of tractors and trailers and their systems.
• Able to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Able to operate all equipment safely.
• Able to read trailer information such as trailer numbers, safety procedures and protocols.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to operate computer systems with minimal direction after training.
• CDL is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate tractors/trailers in the yard, safely moving trailers to doors and yard locations.
• Back up trailers into docks and yard locations; hook and unhook trailers.
• Maintain communication with Dispatch, Yard Coordinators and Operations Managers via radio.
• Perform routine safety inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
