Job summary

Target is seeking a Yard Driver at our Distribution Center to move tractors and trailers in the yard safely and efficiently. You will back trailers into docks, connect/unhook, and coordinate with Dispatch and Yard Coordinators to keep product moving quickly to guests.

Applicants should have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally, and operate computer systems after training. CDL is preferred but not required, with benefits and stability provided by Target.

Qualifications

• Possesses a valid driver's license for state employment.
• Maintains a positive attitude and works independently or in a team.
• Able to lift 30 lbs frequently and 60 lbs infrequently.
• Ability to work independently, quickly and safely.
• Problem solving and escalation when needed.
• Knowledge of tractors and trailers and their systems.
• Able to work in all weather conditions.
• Able to operate equipment safely.
• Able to read trailer information and safety procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to operate computer systems after training.
• CDL is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate tractors/trailers in the yard safely and efficiently.
• Back up trailers into dock and yard locations, hook/unhook trailers.
• Maintain communication with Dispatch, Yard Coordinators and Ops Managers.
• Complete tasks accurately and on time; follow safety procedures.
• Support distribution center operations to move product quickly to guests.
