Job summary

Commercial Metals in Tracy, CA is seeking a hands-on yard/customer service role. You will be the first point of contact for customers and deliveries, coordinating daily shipments and directing yard activity to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires strong communication, computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the ability to manage drawings, certificates, and production tags. SAP knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to take direction and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills: Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• SAP knowledge preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• First point of contact in the yard - directs customers and deliveries.
• Ensure daily deliveries are done throughout the plant.
• Manage drawings from detailing to ensure they are given to transportation.
• Print and manage mill certificates.
• Print tags on jobs for daily production.
• Keep yards updated with schedule changes.
• Communicate inspection results in real time to the proper supervisor.
