Job summary

Commercial Metals in Honolulu seeks a yard associate to direct customer deliveries, manage ticketed materials, and support operations across the yard.

The role requires strong Excel, RECY and SAP knowledge; excellent communication; ability to work with minimal supervision; and a commitment to customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge in Excel, RECY and SAP experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to take direction and complete tasks with minimum supervision.
• Driven individual with honesty and integrity.
• Provides exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact in the yard – directs customers and deliveries
• Keeps track of ticketed materials, properly identifies vehicles and personnel, obtains required legal documentation of customers
• Assesses weight of materials inbound and outbound into the process area, and prices tickets
• Accurately identifies material to assign correct value
• Provides customer service, ensures customers’ specs and contract requirements are fulfilled
• Maintains accurate record keeping of contracts and deliveries
• Assesses by grade the accurate weight of material orders and issues supplies for visitors and customers entering the yard
• Walk‑up customer service: verifies driver’s license or accurate documentation & back‑up for materials sold
