Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson, IN is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist specialized in Radiography to join our imaging team.

You will position patients, select optimal exposure factors, and produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing retakes. You will administer contrast media per regulations, follow ALARA protocols, verify markers and patient history for PACS submission, and monitor patient stability during complex procedures.

Qualifications

  • BLS Provider within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
  • ARRT Radiologic Technologist (Radiography) credential within 180 days of hire or transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position patients and optimize exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing retakes.
  • Administer contrast media and medications per regulations, following ALARA radiation safety protocols.
  • Verify lead markers and patient history for PACS submission with 100% accuracy.
  • Monitor patient stability during procedures and report abnormal responses promptly.
  • Maintain equipment safety with routine checks and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Keep a sterile and organized clinical environment.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Expertly position patients and select optimal exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing the need for retakes.

  • Administer contrast media and medications in strict accordance with state and federal regulations, ensuring rigorous adherence to radiation safety protocols (ALARA).

  • Execute seamless data management by verifying lead markers and patient history prior to PACS submission, maintaining a 100% accuracy rate for digital records.

  • Monitor patient stability during complex procedures, identifying and reporting abnormal physiological responses to ensure immediate intervention when necessary.

  • Oversee equipment integrity through routine performance checks and "lock-out/tag-out" safety procedures, while maintaining a sterile and organized clinical environment.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
