Job summary

Ascension in Indianapolis is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specializing in CT and X-ray to support the emergency department. The role requires independent imaging, patient positioning, contrast administration, and collaboration with physicians for procedures.

Minimum credentials include BLS and Indiana Radiology Services Program, with preferred CT experience and ARRT/ARDMS certifications. This on-site role offers comprehensive hospital benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification: BLS required within 30 days, Radiologic Technologist credential in Indiana within 180 days.
• One or more of: Cardiographic Tech (CCI), ARRT Radiologic Technologist in Radiography, or ARDMS Sonography within 180 days.
• Two years CT experience highly preferred; one year X-ray experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ability to perform CT and XRay independently within an ER setting.
• Position patients, select parameters, and ensure radiation safety.
• Prepare for, perform, and assist physicians with procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media within scope.
• Submit high-quality images and data to PACS with proper markers.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Ability to perform CT and XRay independently within an ER setting.
• Accurately position patients, select parameters, and implement radiation safety.
• Prepare for, perform, and assist physicians with special procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the scope of practice.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS (with correct markers and patient data).

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Indiana Medical Radiology Services Program obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Two years experience in CT highly preferred
• One year XRay experience preferred
