Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an X‑Ray Technician to perform digital radiographic studies under provider orders. The role requires ARRT certification and Virginia licensure, with familiarity in EPIC EHR and PACS systems.

Duties include patient positioning, documentation in EMR, and collaboration within a high-volume clinical team. Travel to off-site locations may be required and BLS is required prior to direct patient care.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification is required.
• Virginia state licensure is required where the job is performed.
• BLS certification is required (preferred upon hire, must be obtained prior to direct patient care).
• 1 year of radiation safety and patient care experience is preferred.
• Experience with Radiology Information System (RIS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs provider-ordered radiographic examinations with proper positioning and protection.
• Sets up and adjusts immobilization equipment; ensures patient safety and professionalism.
• Documents patient encounters in the EMR.
• Determines and selects appropriate factors to safeguard patient and equipment.
• Travels to off-site facilities and may adjust hours to meet patient care needs.
• Maintains sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination.
• Reports equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to supervisor.
• Performs additional duties including supply ordering, registration, scheduling, and scribing as needed.
