Job summary

CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring an X-ray Technician - Medical Assistant to perform imaging services, collect specimens, and document in the EHR. The role requires 1+ year clinical experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and an accredited Medical Assistant program completion.

The position offers a sign-on bonus up to $1000 and requires licenses (GMRT/LMRT/NCT) in the state of residency along with BLS and screenings within set timeframes. Located in Texas.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• GMRT, LMRT, or NCT license required in state of residency.
• AAMA certification (preferred).
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start.
• Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs and administer IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services per provider’s orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts as required.
• Maintain records and logs for in-house lab work and screenings.
