Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s CareNow Spartanburg location is hiring a Limited Practice Radiographer/Medical Assistant. You will support patient care by taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and administering injections, while performing x-ray services per orders and updating charts in the EHR.

You will collect histories, assist with check-in/check-out, and maintain radiology and lab records. Strong recommended credentials include RT/LPR/LMRT license, AAMA certification, and BLS, with benefits eligibility and

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• Radiological Technologist (RT) or Limited Practice Radiographer (LPR / LMRT) license is required in state of residency.
• Current AAMA certification is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in the EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts.
• Maintain records and logs for radiology, in-house lab work, drug screens, and external lab work.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
