Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an X-ray technologist to operate radiographic equipment and perform diagnostic radiographs, with potential DEXA duties. This full-time role offers a sign-on bonus and requires flexibility for rotating shifts.

The position rotates between hospital and offsite locations in Elgin, IL, and includes weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations while maintaining patient safety and high-quality imaging standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• IEMA Accreditation in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT (RT) Certification or Certificate Eligible. For new graduates, ARRT must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs as ordered, with proper technical parameters for quality studies.
• Adheres to infection prevention, sterile techniques and ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Maintains patient identification, explains procedures and ensures patient comfort during exams.
