Job summary

Advocate Health Care is hiring a X-ray technologist who will operate radiographic equipment, train for DEXA procedures, and rotate between hospital and offsite locations in Elgin, IL. The role requires ARRT certification or eligibility and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Typical schedule is full-time with weekend/holiday call rotation and 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week). A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• IEMA Accreditation in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT (RT) Certification or Certificate Eligible; must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs per physician orders.
• Adhere to ALARA principles and infection prevention protocols.
• Validate patient identity and ensure accurate exam documentation.
• Maintain radiographic quality and perform RIS/HIS tasks as required.
• Communicate clearly with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure comfort and safety.
• Maintain supplies, equipment cleanliness and proper inventory levels.
