Job summary

Marana Unified School District is seeking a high school assistant coach to support the head coach in developing student-athletes within the rules of AIA and NFHS. The role emphasizes leadership, integrity, responsibility, and professional conduct on and off the field.

The coach will manage scheduling, implement practice and game plans, coordinate with staff, and ensure athlete safety and sportsmanship while fostering a positive community presence.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching the assigned sport.
• Exceptional communication with students and parents; ability to work with diverse people.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
• NFHS Concussions in Sports training completed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates dependability, organization, respect, integrity, and sportsmanship.
• Communicates expectations to team members and families at the beginning of each season.
• Organizes and implements try-outs, practice plans, and game plans; coordinates coaching staff.
• Maintains safety and complies with district procedures.
• Proactively promotes a positive image of the team in the community.
• Supports skill development throughout the year.
