Job summary

The high school supplemental assistant coach position is a seasonal role within Marana Unified School District. The coach reports to the head coach and operates under AIA/NFHS rules to lead student athletes in development, planning, evaluation and program implementation.

Responsibilities include scheduling, planning, safety, communication with families, and coordinating staff. Must demonstrate leadership, integrity, and a healthy lifestyle while upholding scholastic achievement.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching assigned sport.
• Exceptional communication with students and parents.
• Patient, positive and proactive attitude with students and parents.
• NFHS Concussions in Sports completion and CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates dependability, organization, respect, integrity and sportsmanship.
• Communicates expectations for practice schedules, athletes and playing time.
• Organizes try-outs, practice plans and game plans, including additional coaching staff.
• Ensures player safety, follows district procedures and applies sport knowledge to develop players.
• Encourages high behavioral and academic expectations and sportsmanship.
• Partners with parent groups and abides by procurement and fundraising rules.
