Sylvania is seeking a high school assistant coach to work under the head coach within the Marana Unified School District. The coach will lead program development, ensure safety, and uphold the rules of the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) and NFHS.

The position emphasizes leadership, integrity, and effective communication with students, families, and staff. The role is seasonal with a stipend and supports skill development throughout the year.

Qualificações

• Experience coaching the assigned sport.
• Excellent communication with students and parents.
• Patient, positive and proactive attitude with students.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
• NFHS Concussions in Sports completion.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrates dependability, organization, respect, integrity and sportsmanship.
• Uses positive interpersonal relations and effective communication.
• Solves problems with sound judgment and discretion.
• Maintains inventory of all sporting equipment and supplies.
• Works with administrators and vendors to procure equipment and supplies.
• Communicates expectations to athletes and families at season start, including practice schedules and playing time.
• Organizes try-outs, practice plans and game plans, including additional coaching staff.
• Monitors playing surfaces for safety and adjusts as needed.
• Follows district and school procedures and NFHS rules.
• Implements sport knowledge to develop players of all abilities.
• Sets high behavioral and academic expectations for athletes.
• Ensures sportsmanship in all activities and travel.
• Delivers player development initiatives throughout the year.
• Collaborates with parents to enhance player experience.
• Adheres to procurement and fundraising rules and procedures.
• Represents team positively in the community.
• Observes officials and respects bench personnel per rules.
• Provides basic health services and maintains safe environment, including basic first aid when needed.
• Promotes scholastic achievement and high standards.
